Episode 196 w/ Lil Wayne #DRINKCHAMPS

N.O.R.E. & DJ EFN are the Drink Champs. On today’s episode The Champs chop it up with one of the most influential artists in the game, the legend, Lil Wayne. An artist with no ceilings Wayne shares with us the importance of never being afraid to be yourself.

Having a career that spans four decades Lil Wayne has been a master at reinventing himself. From being the youngest Hot Boy on Cash Money Records, Mixtape Weezy grew as a lyricist and became a rock star, forever standing tall among his peers, the GOATS. The Young Money Executive is responsible for putting on stars such as Nicki Minaj and Drake, just to name a few.

In this episode Lil Wayne shares a lot of stories that span from the early days of Cash Money Records, to recording his classic mixtapes. Wayne shares with us how he evolved as an artist and how he transitioned to a CEO. Weezy drops gems, revealing how he came up with “BLING, BLING” and revealing who his all time favorite artist is.

While we discuss topics such as sports and skateboarding, Lil Wayne finds out for the first time who co-signed his feature on Destiny’s Child “Solider” Remix. As a featured artist Lil Wayne has been featured in almost 200 songs, Weezy reflects back on some of those hit records and shares how important it was to build relationships with these artists over the years.

Lil Wayne makes a special announcement on this episode regarding his NEW ALBUM. In addition the Big Homie also surprises Weezy with a message, complimenting him in the highest honor.

From being part of the early battles at The Hip Hop Shop that featured everyone from Eminem, D12, Royce Da 5’9” to Fat Joe. Bizarre shares how The Hip-Hop Shop provided Detroit MC’s a place to showcase their skills and even attracted MC’s from out of town as well.

As we blame the Tiger Bone shots for the memory loss, Bizarre helps us remember that him and Eminem were part of the group the Outsidaz. Also sharing classic origin stories of how the group D12 was formed and the story of how Eminem was signed to Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment.

Cipha Sounds shares his origin story from working with Funkmaster Flex, writing skits for Dave Chappelle, to how he made a name for himself on New York City’s airwaves. Cipha Sounds drops gems as he share how he and Peter Rosenberg created the first Hip-Hop Podcast with JUAN EPSTEIN.

Episode 193 w/ Memphis Bleek #DRINKCHAMPS

N.O.R.E. & DJ EFN are the Drink Champs. On today’s episode The Champs welcome back legendary recording artist Memphis Bleek. Bleek shares lots of great Roc-a-Fella stories, creating Warehouse Music Group and helping develop the D’USSÉ brand.

Bleek shares how he’s looked up to JAY Z since a very young age and how a personal conversation with Hov changed his whole life. Bleek shares stories about creating his classic debut album “Coming of Age” and gives his opinion on what caused the end of Roc-a-Fella Records.

As the D’USSÉ shots keep pouring N.O.R.E. and Bleek reflect back on receiving “Pimp” awards. The Champs and Bleek also discuss a variety of topics such as working with legendary producers, growing older in hip-hop and traveling the world.

Episode 192 “Last Call of 2019” #DRINKCHAMPS

N.O.R.E. & DJ EFN are the Drink Champs. On today’s episode The Champs take a look back at this years legendary episodes where N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN sit down with some of Hip Hop’s biggest icons, including Nas, Birdman, Jazzy Jeff, Redman, Master P, De La Soul, Angie Martinez, and many more.

Sittin’ at the DC table, The Champs and their guests relive some of their favorite stories told throughout 2019. From classic Ruff Ryders, No Limit and Cash Money stories from the guests who lived it, to legendary stories of icons who are no longer with us. As Redman made us laugh with his MTV Cribs story, Nas dropped gems at the DC table. As we celebrated our win of “Best Talk Show”, we laughed about how we ended up breaking the award, in true Drink Champs fashion.

As 2019 came to a close, it was only right that we heard more legendary stories about PRINCE, told by the artists who met him.
